Ever since Darwin and The Descent of Man, the existence of humans has been attributed to our intelligence and adaptability. But in Catching Fire, renowned primatologist Richard Wrangham presents a startling alternative: our evolutionary success is the result of cooking. In a groundbreaking theory of our origins, Wrangham shows that the shift from raw to cooked foods was the key factor in human evolution. when our ancestors adapted to using fire, humanity began.

A very stupid book by a very stupid author. It wasn’t our large brain, walking upright (making us fantastic hunters who could run with weapons in hand), the ability to form language and a hundred other differences from our ape ancestors. Nope it was because we learned how to put a pot on some embers and brew a nice cup of tea or grill that mastadon burger to medium rare. Ok, if you say so pal.

pbcaddy wins-the-stupidest-stupid comment of the year award. What are you 10 years old.
The book by Richard Wrangham PhD, (Anthropologist)
is a must read as it is full of outstanding evidence such as documenting how a number of female raw foodists stop menstruating - Not exactly a formula for species longevity. Since being published in 2009 there are women on raw vegan diets all over the internet confirming the loss of their period after forgoing cooked food & some do it to intentionally halt their peroids.
What say you on those findings pbcaddy? Or perhaps finding out that cooking greatly expands the number of foods humans could eat by reducing & removing the toxins in them. Perhaps the biggest advantages of all is that cooked food provides a whopping 25% more calories & make some nutrients more absorbable. This is truly a game changer of monumental proportions. If a country suddenly developed a process that gave their crude oil 25% more energy it would be a real game changer.
You never even listened to it did ya triggerboy? Talk about a kneejerk from today’s intolerant youth.
Now take your temper tantrum & run along.
This book & ”The Ape That Understood the Universe: How the Mind and Culture Evolve” by Steve Stewart-Williams are the 2 best audio books on evolution shared here IMO. I’m open for more.

I’m a simple man and prefer raw flesh.
Human, if possible.
