A giant comet whose trajectory will take it close to Earth is significant for various reasons: for some it is a chance to resume space exploration suspended after the nuclear “incident” which has reduced much of the world to poverty. For the head of the Reunited Nations, it is an opportunity to divert attention from the planet’s problems and for still others, a chance to do something about those problems.
