Is this series any good? I tried listening to the first book but it lost me really early on when it started leaning into the lead character gushing over some guy.

Yes, it is quite good. There is some romance tucked in, but overall it is modern fantasy mixed with mystery and action. Plus the concept of dealing with gods on vacation is quite entertaining. I’d say it is on the same level as the Rylee Adamson series or Shannon Meyer’s Elemental series. The romance angles tie into the mystery stuff, so it doesn’t become distracting.

I’ll trust you on it and give it another shot. Also if you like this kind of stuff and you haven’t already checked it out, you should take a look at the Tony Mandolin mysteries series. GA foolishly abandoned it after 4 books but the 4 they did were awesome. (I keep reaching out to them to pick it back up but I don’t think enough people are asking them about it.) The author is a pretty good guy too and deserves another attempt from them.
