Choosing a Nightmare start to get ahead of the wave of new players starting the game, Jason finds himself alone in the wilds tasked with saving a group of refugees from goblin invaders. Although he manages to save the survivors, that is just the beginning of his trials as he desperately fights to bring them back from the edge of annihilation.
Jason is quickly swept up in the adventure as he struggles to build a home for his guildmates and the NPCs that he’s saved. As the trouble heats up, he quickly discovers that marauding goblins are the least of his concerns.

Nice book. Still requiring healing after leveling up from fight with cobolds that should top it is inconsistency.
Also telling that there is no diffrence between horror movies when you watch it from perspective of the victim with game where some sicko players can participate in killing NPC children themselves and learn from it is more then a bull.

On the whole this book was an ok listen for the first 5 hours and 44 minutes.
There where some minor issues in story development along with the narrator mispronouncing words.
Passed that time the writing just seems to get worse and from what I can tell from reading other reviews the story also goes off the rails.
I actually wonder what the text version of this book is like due to the many oddly pronounced words and the narrators overall reading.
Rating goes from a 3.6 to a 2.4 very abruptly.

Eh was fine until 5.5h in, a game would have a blocking feature, all games like that have some way of “removing” someone harrasing players…

I like this a lot. Good story, and I think the narrator’s voice/style is excellent. (some pronunciation issues, but I got used to them)

Sadly as of March 2025, the file doesn’t work. I have tried twice and nothing. I can find no app on my computer or phone that will play. Very sad.
