Now this is why I visit this site: a novel that I missed, which sounds like the kind of thing I shouldn’t have.
I’m also constitutionally inclined to think that anyone who uploads in FLAC format is probably the kind of dude I should be listening to.

IMHO, FLAC format makes perfect sense for music - for audiobooks, not so much.
The long established throughout the industry de-facto standard bitrate is 64Kbps.
Even though producers could easily offer 10 times higher bitrate using FLAC - objectively, there’s simply no need in bitrates higher than 64Kbps.

I’m not so sure about that many new books have awful sound on headphones, background sound odd distortions and more and some 64kbps releases have very good sound but most releases aren’t ner perfect sound at all. But I don’t care about that so much. Size doesn’t matter for me could be 5gb one book but know that wouldn’t work for many.

alnilam, Probably uses poor audio equipment and then it doesn’t matter. I constantly can hear another reader at the background(in another room) for many audiobooks.
