Will Ryder and Francine, the AI powering his homemade spacecraft, have taken to the stars, the first step on their quest to save the Earth from alien invasion.
They have to travel across the Milky Way to reach Francine’s homeworld, a route fraught with danger and adventure for even a cutting edge ship, but Will and Francine’s ship is cobbled together in a rush with Earth materials, and it won’t make the journey without significant upgrades.

The file isn’t playable by iTunes. Anyone else having trouble with this file?

Mine plays, but there is no sound in VLC player, I threw it in inAudible and got this error:
“Sound failed to load with the following error code: ERR_NOERROR”
Also worth noting inAudible says the bit rate is CBR 109 — odd.
Thats about all the info I have to share.

You can re-encode this with ffmpeg using libfdk_aac decoder (with -c:a libfdk_aac before -i ..). Native ffmpeg xHE-AAC decoder produces distorted audio with this USAC. There is something wrong with this file or ffmpeg with its native decoder is “garbage”.

No need for a “new” bloated player or Windows 11 with spyware. All you need is to install the codec.
The player is just the UI to access the services.
Aside from ffmpeg, MPC classic derivatives: MPC-BE & MPC-HC are sufficient.
Anyhow, something is wrong with the audio encoding. MPC-BE played it with the least audio hicups while all others have a lot.

Transferred to an iphone using 3utools and it plays back fine, I think it has the codec built into ios

Audible have moved on they’re now providing modern codecs on the services.
When libation requests, the “Highest” quality AAC is not selected from audible servers any more.
A legacy version is up of this torrent now.
There is going to be a Change to xHE-AAC until all libation clients are updated to manually disable xHE-AAC as a choice.

Im just here to complain about the author having the mc charg into the bridge of a pirate ship of aliens that literally eat the people they capture and after getting shot at twice he didn’t want to draw his gun because he wanted to talk and not “escalate” the situation. Ffs he already killed 5 of them. The story is fun but this isn’t the 1st time in the series the author did something so stupid it completely broke immersion.
