There is no “virus”. I think this is a mongrel file, standard MP3 encoded audio with chapter tags as used in M4B. So whether it plays depends on how eclectic your software is.

Checked a sample of the file:
it’s actually AAC, not MP3.
Should have been named .m4b or .m4a.
Rename the file to one of those extensions and it should work.
Some media players don’t care what the extension is and will work it out, others, like iTunes, are more fussy and give up if it isn’t correctly named.
Yes, I know the uploader mentions this but it still confuses a lot of downloaders.
Uploaders, please name the file correctly to begin with.

Don’t worry…most that are on here and other platforms calling it a “hit job” probably can’t read anyway. If you want to be led by a dictator, I’m sure Trump’s buddy Putin or Kim would happily accept any of you. There is a reason that we revolted and haven’t been under a monarchy since the 1776. for anyone having issues getting playback on a phone or mp3 player, I had success using an online converter to make it an mp3 file since it appears to actually be a mislabeled m4b or aac file. At least in windows 10 I cant just rename a file extension as the author suggests.

The file is mislabeled as an mp3. Change the extension to .m4b and it will work.

The audio quality of this file isn’t great, so if anyone has a better copy, please upload it. I converted this (supposed) m4b file to mp3, which usually results in a nice folder with files in chapters, along with album/cover pics, but this one just gives a aingle MP3 that sounds like the volume was too high and is somewhat raspy. Certainly better than nothing and thanks to the uploader, but a better file would be nice.

For the American republicans who are posting that this book has no “smoking gun”, you’re right. No need to look for the smoking gun when you’ve got the whole thing on tape. It’s quite the thing to watch a third of Americans rush off the cliff like a bunch of lemmings, blindly following their cult leader. Thank God I’m not American. Masks are mandatory here, and no one is screaming that it’s a violation of their rights. We’re thrilled that we have only ONE active case of covid in a city full of international students. And it’s because we are following medical advice like adults. We’re not screaming like toddlers having a melt-down. Never thought I’d write a comment like this, but the title of this book is exactly what I feel when I see grown Americans having a melt-down over wearing a mask during a life-threatening, global pandemic.

Audio quality is poor (EQ, post-processing might help with scratchy noise/pops), but the content is great; reads like a thriller, having to remind myself it’s real.
People should definitely listen to it before trashing it though, as it provides a lot of insight into past events (that aren’t all directly about Trump).

Blaming a fellow American, President Trump, for Americans dying because of the China Virus. Why don’t you blame China for killing the Americans that died because of the China virus? Easier to go against your fellow Americans than the true enemy. I see China’s gross domestic product (GDP) is second to USA, but look at Purchasing power parity (PPP) has surpassed USA. While we quibble among ourselves, other countries are crushing us… Time to pull your heads out of your asses!!!
