When a peaceful settlement on a moon in the furthest reaches of the universe finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius, a mysterious stranger named Kora becomes their best hope for survival.
From Zack Snyder, the filmmaker behind 300, Man of Steel, and Army of the Dead, comes REBEL MOON, an epic science-fantasy event decades in the making.
When a peaceful settlement on a moon in the furthest reaches of the universe finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius, Kora (Sofia Boutella), a mysterious stranger living among the villagers, becomes their best hope for survival. Tasked with finding trained fighters who will unite with her in making an impossible stand against the Mother World, Kora assembles a small band of warriorsâoutsiders, insurgents, peasants and orphans of war from different worlds who share a common need for redemption and revenge. As the shadow of an entire Realm bears down on the unlikeliest of moons, a new army of heroes is formed.
Novelized by V. Castro, two-time Bram Stoker Award-nominated author. Experience Rebel Moon on the page in this pulse-pounding novelization.

Oh look, it’s 7 Samurai in space… An original story sure would have been nice.

an original story like Star Wars, which was a direct lift from a samurai movie.

also, 7 Samurai took place in space. Literally EVERYTHING is in space.

What’s the run-time? This could be the first time that the movie is longer than the book. đ

This is based on the R-rated director´s cut to be released in the summer. It´s an hour longer and has alternative scenes. The novelization is a sneak peek into the actual film Snyder would have liked to release on day one. This version is obviously more complete but also very bleak and sexually explicit. The book has a 17+ warning on the cover.
The film wasn´t a Star Wars pitch before it became one for about a month in 2012 or so. Right before Disney bought Lucasfilms. That tidbit on the film is vastly overblown. The actual idea goes back to Snyder´s film school days in the 80s. Snyder, Micheal Bay and Tarsem Singh all went at the same time.

Downloaded and read the whole book yesterday in one sitting. I appreciate the upload but I have to say this is one of the worst sci-fi books I’ve ever read.
It’s clearly written to appeal to a non traditional (female) sci-fi audience but It feels like it was written by a high school “C” student. It has the thinnest plot I think I’ve ever read. The dialogue is insultingly simplistic. Calling the characters single-dimensional is a gross understatement. The “science” part of the science fiction is non existent. The author doesn’t even describe what the spaceships look like. The sex scenes are completely unnecessary. It’s just…. Dumb. It’s like if someone saw half of Star wars IV and decided to write a book about it.
