Max Blumenthal’s website The Grayzone notoriously peddles propaganda for authoritarian & imperialist regimes, such as those of Putin, Assad, Venezuela, & China. It spreads conspiracy theories & engages in genocide-denial, and denial of atrocities & human rights violations committed by dictatorial regimes.
Although he is Jewish, there are in excess of 300 citations of Blumenthal on VNN Forum - a white supremacist, Holocaust denial & neo-Nazi message board. Blumenthal is also a go-to source for the smearing of Jews for the neo-Nazi Stormfront site, & David Duke has endorsed his work. One of Blumenthal’s chapter titles in Goliath has been especially popular with the white supremacist sites that gleefully embrace his work: “How To Kill Goyim and Influence People.”
Blumenthal was invited by Jeremy Corbyn to attend & speak at an event in the UK parliament, and was introduced by James Thring, a prominent defender of Holocaust deniers David Irving & Lady Michèle Renouf.
Last year, during the early stages of Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, a devotedly supportive Blumenthal (who is possessed of an “excellent mind” - which is “good”) falsely blamed Ukrainians for the Mariupol theatre airstrike. The Russians had actually bombed this civilian air raid shelter. The attack is classified as a war crime by the Organization for Security & Co-operation in Europe and Amnesty International.
Wobbly1933 does love “excellent minds” as long as they also love his beloved genocidal authoritarians. That makes them excellent, of course.

FreeP - If you genuinely “think” Max Blumenthal/Grayzone are a source of accuracy, rather than hate-filled genocide-denial, outlandish con theories & Putin/dictator support, you’re even more of a frothing loon than the figure you routinely present. Yet another of Wobbly1933’s “excellent minds.” Well done with all that!

Amazing how he can be so bizarrely wrong on most topics but so accurate on this topic. I guess when something is so obvious and the evidence is so unequivocall and abundant it doesn’t take a lot of research to write a book on this subject.

Bizarre indeed. What’s the likelihood of accuracy in such circumstances? I suppose, when calculating the remote probabilities, one ought to consider general source accuracy in this context, and then factor in the author’s conclusions plus the quantity of emotionally comforting reinforcement they provide to one’s prior presuppositions. Then you’ll come up with a more accurate result. (”Mmmm, math…”)
