  The fact that Kadrey went full social justice warrior towards the end and had “Sandman Slim” worry about pronouns for trans people completely destroyed the entire series for me

  Good for you, I lasted 30 minutes😂 That´s the problem with series with a lot of books in them, like the malazan empire by Steven Erikson or Steve McHugh Hellequin series. What you´re praying for towards the end is that they stick the landing, otherwise books you used to like are kinda garbage now. BTW the two mentioned series are examples where they finished in style

  The rest of you, though, sound like a bunch of pathetic dinosaurs. An author’s understanding of people broadens and that’s a *bad* thing to you? What made you so bitter, isolated and petty that you’d disregard and disrespect people because they’re different than you? Grow up.

  Best book series ever. I was saddened that the last book was so short compared to the earlier books but kadrey is an epic writer and a genuine nice guy. Looking forward to what else he’s got going. And bringing awareness of pronouns and trans rights is awesome. Bringing real world issues into urban fantasy isn’t a new concept. This series gets a full 5 stars from me

  And it didn’t even make sense for the character to care about any of it. Throughout the series he’s shown to be an uncaring asshole, and all of a sudden, THIS is the thing he cares about?
  I dropped the series the moment that girl said she wanted different pronouns. That was the only notice I needed about the author wrecking the series to make an idealogical point. I didn’t need to waste more time on it so he could go further down that rabbithole.

  @mls7219 it’s not that mixed. It’s people either saying they love the series or people saying that they won’t give it a chance because it acknowledged that trans people exist.

  @ Grdo88. People exist with beliefs that theu are something they are not. That does not equate to Trans People exist. There are people that believe they are gods, saints, hear angels and and there are some that believe their sexual attraction to woolly animals is natural. When deciding if something exists, Ask a Genetists not an adolesant with sexual issues. Two sexes. FACT, Peaple that beleive their a 3rd Fact. There is a 3rd, NON FACT.

  To not read a great outstanding series because you might get triggered by the final book is just the type of ignorance that allows WOKE culture to spread and brainwash people in the first place. We tolerate dumb lefties all the time. May just take them awhile to wake up/grow up. Doesn’t mean they are incapable of creating great work.

  First of all, I agree with the whole leave your im a champion of the LGBT community at the door. And when an author release a decade of books without a peep of LGBT and then decides to champion their cause it is not because they had an epiphany. Its because they bent to pressure from a social agenda that makes up less that 3% of the population. I have nothing….uhmm chalk that…I used to have nothing against anyone’s lifestyle choices. But now that the entire world of entertainment and mass media are tying to force feed this culture to me in every single thing published or produced, I now have a bad taste in my mouth. Soon when its no longer cool or “IN” to be, to be friends with, or youre really insane…have a trans gender 10 year old boy…girl…oh wait THEM OR THEY…after all pronouns are a global concern…well ONLY ON TV. SO back to my original point …decade not a peep….fold under social pressure…new LGBT BOOK….YAY A CONVERT!!! This is simple folks this was not out of becoming pragmatic it is pure good old fashion….im cool Im woke…now print me some more money please….please …dont CANCEL ME!!!! There’s another small percentage group that would love all this new found attention and have us all swallow their big white pill….and all you have to do is shave your head. Far left, far right= NUT CASE
