Mmmm, ‘Scottishguy’ might not be entirely on the up & up…
Authentic gratitude from an actual (if Dumb) Celt, professor.

Actually, it’s “lassie” ;)
I find it endlessly amusing how everyone always subconsciously correlates “professor” with male. :)
Actually, now that I think about it, I probably would too ;)

Aw hell, now I’m trying to remember if I said anything gender normative (or whatever it is that the kids are saying nowadays). If so, mea maxima culpa and all that.
I’ll have to monitor my masculinising & virilising tendencies in the futuretime, or risk being labelled a toxic whatchamacallit (no one wants that).
I wouldn’t mind, except that we have lots of female academics in the Julii Caesares patrician clan. There were especially a great deal of female dendrologists in my family tree, root & branch.

I did get a good laugh out of “masculinizing” and “virilizing” ;)
Indeed, we wouldn’t want to make anyone feel like they must crawl into their safe space to avoid the slings and arrows of outrageous mean words. I say let’s just burn all toxic books. History is one endless series of harsh realities, and no one wants that ;)
I must make sure my next upload is “A history of gender-fluid Scottish puppies, all of which will be referred to as Ze, in which there are no weapons, but only marshmallows and sunshine, and in which the English gave the Highland clans independence in exchange for smiles and non-threatening hugs which didn’t objectify or invade anyone’s personal space”

True enough, there’s far too much “essentialising of the other” a-goin’ on round this here place. Sobering to observe that the book-burning instinct (gene?) has not departed us. P’haps it now takes the form of deleting books aggressively, vigorously & with extreme prejudice.
