I would warn against ANY SELF-Therapy that is ‘cutting edge’, the consequences can be more serious than ‘running with scissors’.

It’s not self therapy in the sense of do-it-yourself. IFS is a form of therapy that works on the “self” and the parts of a person, like the inner child, the firefighter, etc. It helps by working with those parts within us all to connect to ourselves and to heal.

Just to clarify: this book is best used in conjunction with the books written by Richard C. Schwartz (No Bad Parts, You Are The One You Need, and the rest of the Internal Family System / IFS body of work). It’s not a “Self-Therapy” in the sense that you’re meant to avoid a therapist or anything, it is rather “Therapy performed on the Capital S Self as described by IFS”
