Truly the work of a lunatic. But given its critical theory based its no surprise.

@Teasy. I mean, critical theory is actually pretty important. The relationship between structure and function is ubiquitous in every area of science — there’s no reason to think and no evidence to suggest that societal structures would have any less of an effect on societal function.
If you’re gonna criticize this book you have to criticize either whether the structures exists in the first place, whether the structures are interacting, or whether the proposed structure-function relationships are valid in the first place.
Personally, I find all arguments pertaining to vegan / vegetarianism suspect as I don’t think the vast majority of people think about it. I don’t think anyone frames their thoughts in those terms. Then again what do I really know…

The description needs to be worked on, by the author preferably. I compiled other descriptions and research papers based on the book as an attempt:
“The Sexual Politics of Meat: A Feminist-Vegetarian Critical Theory is a landmark text that has sparked ongoing debate about animal rights. It demonstrates the ways in which the objectification and redefinition of women and animals as consumable commodities are interlinked:
Woman are frequently represented within popular culture as cuts of meat at the same time that animals destined for the table are, conversely, represented often as women. The use of sexually provocative imagery in both cases symbolically links sex, violence, male dominance and the belief that these are what women, perhaps secretly, really desire. In the end, the domination of animals is as basic to the practice of patriarchy as the domination of women and sexual minorities. She focuses on the patriarchal politics of our culture as the culprit, pointing out that the meanings attached to meat eating are often clustered around virility.
Furthermore, she argues that veganism and the fight for animal rights fit perfectly alongside working to improve the lives of disenfranchised and suffering people, under the wide umbrella of compassionate activism. She also criticizes social movements such as feminism by pointing out the hypocrisy of campaigning against one set of injustices while participating in another.
Lastly, she argues that there is a better way as significant associations between meat and dairy consumption and the incidence of cancer and heart disease have been established. That it is widely accepted that the factory farming of animals are associated with considerable environmental damage; that the welfare and rights of farmed animals are ignored and that vegetarians and vegans live longer and healthier lives than non-vegetarians.”
