If I remember my Marxist criticism aright, the dragon represents a symbolic critique of the aristocracy, who gathered great “stolen” wealth to themselves, and failed to invest in social capital or proactively develop anything worthwhile. They sat on it. In addition, they were cruel & arbitrary blighters. You can’t beat the old Marxist critique.

Agreed. I know the comments here are supposed to be for the torrent but I am fine with off topic comments and reviews of the actual book as long as they distinguish themselves by not using the stars except when rating the torrent.
