I couldn’t get it to play.It downloaded very fast and I wondered why then I saw the file size is very small for an audiobook.Maybe it’s just me.Anyone else have a problem?

@Anonymous3, how can you know if it sounds “shitty” when you “couldn’t get it to play”?
@bookaddict, I have found 48Kb/s ABR to be a good quality for audiobooks. Anything greater and I don’t notice a difference. I use some tricks like setting a proper sampling rate to increase the quality that can be packed into those 48Kb. Most audible books I see uploaded here have a sampling rate of 44.1 kHz when the source is only 22.05.
Also remember that most audible books on this site are converted from quality 4 files. That means the encoder started with a 32Kb/s mp3 and re-encoded at a higher bitrate to preserve as much of the original quality as possible. I started with an AAX which is 64Kb/s AAC and re-encoded to 48Kb/s MP3 because after some testing I found this was where I stopped hearing noticable differences.
