Maybe drop the “Book 8″ part from the title. Even if it’s Zahn’s 8th book featuring a version of Thrawn it’s not part of the same series and the originals.
This is a new Thrawn in the Star Wars canon defined by LucasFilm (not Disney, unlike some morons think).

Thanks for the audiobook.
I’m surprised that I like this book.
Thrawn’s background does not make him the Villain that people say he is.
Eli Vanto is a new character and a good protege under Thrawn which is also a surprise.
The storyline doesn’t make the Empire look that bad which is usually told from the Rebels’ POV.
If Thrawn is good as a tactician, wonder what the Chiss Ascendency’s military is like.
If they’re anywhere close to how Thrawn thinks or behaves, heaven help the Empire or the Alliance or anyone else that threatens them.
